Enhancing Sustainable Urban Growth and Connectivity through Indonesia’s Transit-Oriented Development Framework

To support the expansion of mass public transportation, to enhance the value of developed areas, and to encourage efficient spatial structure and sustainable urban development, the Indonesian government has issued the Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of National Land Agency Regulation Number 16 of 2017 on Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) Guidelines. This regulation establishes the TOD concept, technical criteria, and specific incentives. As of now, the development of TOD areas has been implemented across Indonesia, particularly in major cities like Jakarta and Bandung.
