As part of the government’s deregulation efforts, the Government has issued Minister of Trade Regulation Number 16 of 2025. This new framework revises certain criteria related to import business licensing, clarifies key reporting deadlines related to customs inspection and post-border procedures, and introduces a tiered sanction system for non-compliance. Additionally, this regulation has revoked import approvals for five specific commodity types, requiring affected importers to reapply under the updated regime.
